Cigna

Driving Human-Centered Change Across Multiple Healthcare Initiatives

Project Overview

At Cigna, I contributed to several cross-functional initiatives across different business units, including global data analytics communications, health coding optimization, and care delivery transformation. My role spanned project management, UX research, and change leadership — all grounded in a human-centered approach.

Human-Centered Design Approach

  • Across multiple engagements, I served in hybrid leadership roles, including:

    • Project Manager – for LEON Health coding changes

    • Lead Change Manager & UX Strategist – for Alegis Care service transformation

    • Communications Engagement Lead – for Global Data & Analytics engagement strategy

    • Conducted internal interviews with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand service delivery pain points

    • Led change impact analysis to evaluate how current workflows would be affected by proposed system or process changes

    • Mapped the current state experience across users, including field staff and care managers

    • Developed user insights and personas to center the future state design on real needs

    • Crafted a change management plan rooted in empathy, accessibility, and staff readiness

    • Created a roadmap to transition from current to future state with phased milestones and support tactics

    • Facilitated stakeholder reviews to validate assumptions and build consensus

    • Global Data Analytics (GDA):

      • Led communications strategy to improve team engagement and awareness of GDA’s work across Cigna

      • Developed targeted messaging, brand voice guidance, and stakeholder communications for broader impact

    • LEON Health Coding (PM):

      • Oversaw project planning, cross-functional timelines, and stakeholder alignment for coding updates critical to compliance and care efficiency

    • Delivered a comprehensive change management plan that was used to guide leadership and field teams through service enhancements

    • Created a clear, user-informed future state experience for Alegis Care that aligned with both clinical and operational goals

    • Strengthened cross-team collaboration by grounding every effort in user insights and transparent communication

    • Helped Cigna build a more adaptive and customer-centered approach to evolving healthcare systems
